The road to Hel(goya)…
Posted in : Oriole
Made it to 70 degrees north in blazing sunshine and arctic wind.
Helgoya means holy island and it truly is a heavenly place. Firstly sustaining ourselves with some delicious banana cake made from our fastly fermenting bananas and faster fermenting sour milk we went ashore to explore the island chauffeured by our trusty mate who despite his noble efforts got attacked by seagulls.
The last 10 days we have seen some amazing sites from stunning granite fjords to the high life at the Henningsvaer codstock festival and of course the midnight sun at Litje Sommeroy after our delicious bbq on the beach.
Tomorrow we return to Tromso on our final sail full of many amazing memories.
