Rubicon 3 customer reviews
We take every single customer's experience personally. We are acutely aware that you have limited time and are spending a significant amount of money on your holiday. When we ask for feedback, we're not looking for praise per se (though we love to get it!). We're looking for real, objective comments on what we did and how well we did it. We also act on the results; we are constantly looking to understand, learn and improve. We are really proud of our feedback so far, but we're going to get this even better.
The scenery, the sailing and the people (especially the crew) made this the best holiday I've probably ever been on. I did not want to leave at the end, and that is not what I normally feel like at the end of a holiday, normally I'm glad to be getting back.
Pretty much everything - organisation, sailing, location & especially the skippers Rick & Luke. They were fabulous at imparting knowledge, keeping us safe, and most important having great fun along the way.
Great people, places and tutors.
The terrific group of people on this cruise, from Rachel and Holly, our amazing skipper and mate, to all of the crew from both legs that really made this crossing special.
I got to see and do things I never thought possible. It was an adventure!
The whole experience was awesome, but the skipper and mate absolutely made the trip. They were great from start to finish and their different styles complemented each other really well.
The whole thing! Combination of the boat, the people, the spirit it was done in - we lucked out on all three I think
It was just one big adventure more than I ever expected. Brilliant.
skipper and first mate were fantastic in terms of attitude, knowledge
The overall challenge of the passages and the places that we were able to spend some time. Beautiful sailing area
All my expectations were more than met - what did really help me as a rather new sailor was the experience of failure when we got a rope around the prop and the gear disengaged from the engine. The skippers and mates reactions did give me a good insight about situation handling under stress. I rate the success and satisfaction of my vacancies by the relaxation level I have when returning home. It has been a week now and I am still relaxed totally besides learning and doing a lot during my trip.
I had two main wishes from this trip - first to experience some stunning Norwegian coastal scenery, and second to gain confidence and ability as a sailor. Both of these were fulfilled in spades, thanks to your professional crew - the routes were planned to take us through some of the most picturesque spots, and seeing how the skipper and first mate dealt with the boat day-to-day (and especially when things didn't go to plan!) was a huge learning experience.
Travelling to a remote location that few tourists visit was amazing, being able to visit places where no-one else was around was brilliant. Seeing wildlife, expecially the whales.
The knowledge and experience of the skipper and his ability to teach quite complicated subjects to novice crew.
Impossible to single out one thing. Stuart is a fantastic skipper and teacher, his wildlife knowledge really helped us identify everything we saw. The weather, the scenery, the sailing the wildlife. It was great to get to know Oriole too.
The Skipper Bruce and Mate Carol
Incredible sights that you just couldn't possible see anywhere else in any other situation. Seeing the white-beaked dolphins leaping off the coast of Spitzbergen was a real highlight for me.
The incredible professionalism of the skipper and first mate- they ensured that each of us got the experience we wanted
The knowledge and attitude of the skipper (Stuart) and the mate (Michael), the wonderful passage, the incredible scenery in Norway and Iceland, ... too many things!!
Fantastic location, brilliant skipper and 1st mate, great company.
The skipper Stuart and mate Michael. The way they handled the whole experience and responded to the crew was outstanding ad above any expectations I had. The tuition was excellent and, as a complete novice, I felt that I could not have achieved more inn the two weeks and so enjoyed the complete experience. I will come back for more. I loved Iceland and seeing so many whales, dolphins, and sea birds. When there was a lively wind the boat felt great under sail.
Many things contributed to my answer, but the main one was the competence of Susie and Luke. They were really great people and made the trip special through their humour, patience and deep knowledge. Svalbard itself was incredible and I feel privileged to have lived in one of Europe's wilderness areas for a short time. The Fladens! Thank you for providing these. They made the trip a lot more comfortable and meant I only had to wear 5 layers on the crossing from Norway!
Being part of a great team led by Emily and Holly, they made everyone feel welcomed and made sure we all has a part in such an amazing experience.
David Bailey Just a great trip in all ways, places, skipper and mate, crew and boat.
It was not one big thing but the many little experiences that made the trip great. Susie and Luke were amazing, the crew jelled really well and the route we took was just amazing, topped off with the fact that I got a selfie with a polar bear :-)
Totally amazing trip. Beautiful scenery made more perfect by our fabulous skipper Emily and first mate Holly. Unforgettable experience
